Upgrade HP Virtual Connect Firmware

To upgrade the HP virtual connect firmware, you need to ensure you have an up to date On-board Administrator firmware since this will be used to perfrom the virtual connect upgrade.

Steps:


1. Go to HP site to check the latest Virtual Connect Support Utility and download it

2. you should download a file like vcsu-1.7.1-x86.msi, in this example, the version is 1.7.1; then execute and install this utility to your machine

3. after the installation, click the program (in this example we will use the command prompt approach;



4. then you will see below command prompt;
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard Company\Virtual Connect Support Utility>

5. type below command; (in this example, IP address is 10.22.1.6, user id is user, password is password)

vcsu -a update -i 10.22.1.6 -u user -p password -l C:\temp\vcfwall360.bin

6. then you will see below prompt, give the user name and password of the virtual connect module to continue
